HANCOCK - The Hancock Farmers Market will begin this Saturday from 9am-noon and continue every Saturday, rain or shine for the rest of the summer. Fresh vegetables, fruits, flowers, baked goods and more. Opening day, the Morris Dancers will perform a celebration of spring. The market is located on Main Street behind the church in the horse sheds.
HOPKINTON - The Annual Hopkinton Fun Fair will take place from 10am-2pm at Harold Martin School. Sponsored by the Hopkinton PTA, it will take place rain or shine. Games and fund, plus a silent auction.

HOPKINTON - Please join the Hopkinton Recreation Department and the Little Nature Museum for an evening of eye-opening wonder. We will be presenting a PBS documentary showing the importance of a healthy environment for your children called “Where do the Children Play?” This one-hour documentary will be shown upstairs in Columbia Hall at 6:30pm. To compliment the movie, there will be a special guest speaker. During the program, the Little Nature Museum will host an array of activities downstairs that will explore the wonders of nature for children aged 5-12 years.

HANCOCK - On exhibit at the Hancock Library are the paintings by artists Sydney Thomas and Elizabeth Glass are on exhibit in the Daniels Room at the Hancock Town Library through June 15. An Artists’ Reception will be held on Sunday, May 18 from 4 to 6 p.m. Regular library hours: Monday and Wednesday, 2 p.m.-6 p.m.; Tuesday and Thursday, 10 a.m.- 7 p.m.; and Saturday, 10 a.m - 4 p.m.
HOPKINTON - Well-known, local classical pianist Jayne Kelly will perform at the First Congregational Church of Hopkinton. This concert is sponsored as a fundraiser in celebration of ‘Tween School ‘n Home’s 25th anniversary as a non-profit, communitty-based education and fun-filled after-school care to children in grades K-6. KEENE - The Governor’s Climate Change Policy Task Force will be holding a task force meeting from 9am-4pm at the Young Student Center at Keene State College. The public and media are welcome to attend the working meeting, which is a continuation of the New Hampshire Climate Chage Policy Task Force charged by Governor Lynch to develop a Climate Change Action Plan. HOPKINTON - The Line Dancing Workshop back by popular demand taught by Pat and Jim. This workshop is for beginners to intermediate dancers and no partner is necessary. The class will start May 21 and go until June 25. It will be held at Columbia Hall on the upstairs dance floor from 7pm – 8:30pm. Cost is $15 per person for the six-week workshop. GREENFIELD - The Greenfield Historical Society, along with the Recreation Department will have a presentation by Rob Hannings, baseball historian. Mr. Hannings will be talking baseball with a local flair. He will also share a collection of hundreds of vintage and present day items; town teams and more! The public is invited to this presentation which begins at 7:00pm in the Peter Wensberg room at the Greenfield Library. WASHINGTON - The Washinton Rescue Squad is sponsoring Drugs & Kids, a program about drugs for parents, grandparents, and community members. The presentation will cover the signs and symptoms of drug use and include the paraphernalia associated with drug use. Presenter: Lisa A. HILLSBOROUGH - Hillsborough Chamber of Commerce Annual Golf Scramble to Raise Money for Scholarships. It’s TEE TIME!!! This year’s event will be held at Crotched Mountain Golf Club. Last year’s golf scramble raised enough money to award two $1500 scholarships which will be awarded at the High School Awards Ceremony in June. Registration is $100 per player and includes 18 holes of golf, golf cart, free driving range balls, breakfast & lunch, prizes, on-course golf contests, Fantasy Golf and a chance at getting a hole-in-one and winning a new Arctic Cat donated by Livingston’s Arctic Cat. WASHINGTON - The Washington Historical Society and the New Hampshire Humanities Council will feature WWII New Hampshire - The War at Home. Lawrence Douglas, Plymouth State University, will present a video documentary look at life in NH during the 40’s and the war’s impact on citizens lives and actions. It will be held at Camp Morgan Lodge. A potluck supper starts at 6pm and the program will begin at 7:30pm. Everyone invited.

HILLSBOROUGH, UPPER VILLAGE - Stroll around the green of historic Hillsborough Center to find displays by 30 local artist members of the Hillsborough Area Artisans (HAA) and invited guest artists at the Spring into Summer Faire on Saturday and Sunday, June 14-15, 10 – 4. Artisans will be exhibiting in the Gallery at Well Sweep, under tents on the lawn and in the Center Club with a wide array of original work including paintings, photographs, baskets, pottery, pewter, blown glass, blacksmithing, fiber art, jewelry and more.

HOPKINTON - American Red Cross Swim Lessons will once again held at Kimball Pond. The classes will be for children ages 4 years or older and will include four levels taught at various times. Cost is $35 per two-week session and sessions run from Monday through Thursday with Friday as a make-up day if a class is cancelled. HOPKINTON - Hopkinton Recreation continues to have the Adult Volleyball League. Every Sunday from 7pm - 9pm at the Hopkinton High School. All levels welcomed must be 18 years of age or older. This is free fun league!
HOPKINTON - Hopkinton Summer Day Camp is again being offered. Last year’s camp was a complete success with more than 200 campers during the seven weeks! The camp is for youth ages 6 through 12 years and will include seven one-week sessions beginning June 30th and ending August 15th (no camp on Friday, July 4th). Activities will include arts and crafts, indoor and outdoor games, swimming, weekly field trips, special events and safe fun for everyone. HOPKINTON - The British Soccer Camp is back by popular demand! Last year’s camp attracted more than 80 youngsters as the coaches from England helped every participant fine tune their soccer skills, while keeping all entertained. Camp will be held July 28 through August 1 and will include full- and half-day sessions with a mini-session for the young ones. KEENE - The Keene Senior Center at 70 Court Street is offering a community knitting get-together every Friday from 1-3. This is a drop-in group who knits and crochets, and just enjoys each others’ company. Yarn, needles, hooks, patterns and supplies are provided free of charge to those who knit for charity. Membership is not required for this group. Stop by the office and ask for Roberta.
PETERBOROUGH - See 105 Great Things at the Peterborough Historical Society until May 23rd. We selected one thing collected for each year of the Society’s history to explore our history. These 105 things tell us how people live, worked, learned and built a community. Fees are $3/adult, members and children under 12 are free. The exhibit is open Tuesday through Saturday, from 10am to 4pm at 16 Grove Street.
